The Goodness of Granola
As I sit and enjoy my naturally brewed rootbeer purchased during my weekly produce shopping trip to New Apple, I’m pondering a number of food-related health facts. First — rye. What is it, and how good is it actually for you. A simple Google search has revealed a number of things, including that it is very high in fibre, and Finnish people consume a very rye-rich fibrous diet. This is good, because I love my rye bread. Second, granola. My breakfast cereal has recently become replaced with a good helping of plain, non-sweetened yogourt and some wonderful ginger granola. Oh, granola. (As a side note, my good granola is a little bit expensive compared to the cheaper bulk stuff that can be purchased elsewhere — so I may need to alternate between the two.) And ginger is quite excellent too. Now back to my rootbeer…
